Escuela de Física Matemática 2011
16 - 20 May 2011
Conformal field theory is the study of fields invariant under conformal transformations. It has important applications to string theory, condensed matter and statistical mechanics.
The purpose of the school is to give an introduction to the methods of the conformal theory of quantum fields and its main applications to condensed matter and statistical mechanics.
The school is aimed at undergraduate, graduate and PhD students and researchers interested in the topic.
The school will consist of a series of morning lectures given by the invited speakers. The participants will have the possibility to give talks. Lectures will be held in English and Spanish.
If you are interested in giving a talk, please contact the organizers before 15th of April 2011.
The school will take place from the 16th to 20th of May 2011 at the Universidad de los Andes, Bogotá. p>
Main Speakers
Daniel Cabra (Universidad Nacional de la Plata, Argentina),
Giuseppe Mussardo (SISSA and INFN, Trieste, Italia),
Germán Sierra (Instituto de Física Teórica UAM/CSIC, Madrid, España).
There will be no registration fee. Limited financial support for some participants from outside might be available.
If you are interested in participating, in giving a talk, or in receiving further information, let us know by sending an e-mail to the organizers .
